#PoetrySundays Presents: "Unapologetic"
"I am unapologetically African" O' how I love the sound of my ancestors shouting-- jumping for joy. I recognize my heritage. I appreciate it. I am proud of it-- The mother land that I came from. There is rhythm in my country. There is gold in my country. There is culture in my country. I am versatile and I love it. I will never apologize-- for the color of my skin. I did not ask to be this way-- But I am proud of who I am. I will embrace this for a lifetime. And you can never take this precious diamond away from me.
